Now, SimpliPlay is available on legacy hardware.

Only for emergency use, is the legacy version of SimpliPlay. It is simply the legacy version of NW.js that supports Windows XP and macOS 10.6 with the web app of SimpliPlay inside, certain features removed to remain compatible with this old version of NW.js.

This might sound like a stupid decision, but remember this?

The mission to make media playback simple, anywhere, anytime.

The anywhere, anytime part is the focus. If the app only supports such new hardware on desktop, not everyone can play media. Some people don't even have functional web browsers anymore.

Of course, for those of you on mobile, you don't need to worry about this. The Android version supports Android 2.1 and up (though we forced it to support a minimum of Android 5 to align with Google Play rules and for the best experience), and the iOS version, well it will be hard to do anything about that. :)
