The previous versions of the desktop version of SimpliPlay have always had issues with opening files in SimpliPlay via your file browser on platforms other than macOS.
We changed that today as of version 1.0.6.
The Add Subtitles feature for SimpliPlay has been removed in the web app and Chrome extension because of web policies preventing the feature from working. The desktop app works, and remains unaffected here.
SimpliPlay officially has a Google Chrome extension now! It is available to download on the official website, but not on the Chrome Web Store just yet.
SimpliPlay has officially reached a satisfactory point in time. It need not be updated as frequently as before.
